is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr. Rory Taylor as independent non-executive Board member and Audit Committee Chairman, with effect from 22 January 2021.
Mr. Taylor, a Canadian resident, is a chartered accountant (South Africa) and seasoned finance executive with a track record of capable financial leadership in mining companies. Over the past 10 years he has held senior finance positions at Banro Corporation Ltd, Aura Minerals Inc. and Endeavour Mining Corporation.

A Tuesday ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Washington, D.C. circuit vacated the regulation targeting power plant emissions, wiping away the administration’s replacement for the Obama-era Clean Power Plan just a day before President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
While Trump has made repealing and replacing Obama-era environmental rules a priority targeting more than 100 rules in all Biden has promised to pursue climate action during his administration. Regulating carbon dioxide emissions from the power sector under the Clean Air Act, as both the Clean Power Plan and the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule aimed to do, is a key tool. The court s decision allows Biden to more quickly move forward with such a strategy.

The Global CCS Institute has welcomed 34 new members to its ranks in the last 12 months.
The Global CCS Institute continues to build its membership around the world, adding 34 new members since January 2020. The new members represent a diversity of businesses, as well as government agencies and research organisations, and span 16 different countries. The total number of Institute members now stands at 87.
“The world has come to understand that climate change is an urgent crisis, and that carbon capture and storage (CCS) is an essential element of the climate change solution. The growth in our membership reflects that,” said Jeff Erikson, General Manager for Client Engagement at the Institute.
